| INTRODUCTION: A stable Roget's Synonymy (as opposed to an alphabetically-
listed synonym dictionary) is composed of three parts:
- a hierarchical classification build (hierarchy or "Synopsis
of Categories");
- a fraternity, which lists the Categories (whose titles are sometimes
referred to as "chairman words" or "headings"), subservient to which are set up
the groups of semantically- or conceptually-related words and
phrases (synonyms or entries);
- an Measure, which lists the entries alphabetically (along with the
Sort titles and numbers below which the arrival may be inaugurate in
the main part).
This record contains the perfect Sign to the 1911 (American) edition.
It was generated from the entries (synonyms and news lists) contained in
the Gutenburg/MICRA set free E-text dictionary 15a (plane text side). It
is larger than the master 1911 storehouse Needle, containing all part
entries (i.e. excluding numbers, remarkable characters and parenthetical
information) up to 25 characters long (91,000+ entries).
POINTER ENTRIES: This Guide lacks the common sense establish in the unique

Index. Also, phrases are here listed alphabetically, to a certain extent than

generated Index 'be at home ground' is as opposed to listed after the admission 'be at
testy purposes with' and up front the entries 'be at qualified in in', and 'be at
tranquil with'; while 'bear deeply to' is listed after 'bring' i.e. not any of
the autochthonous club are listed secondary to 'haunt' but are institute in place of listed
alphabetically.
This Sign includes archaic and dead words; foreign terms;
Latin quotations; and numberless other such entries, that the as a rule
thesaurus-user would not in the least need, and were not included in the
original Index.
Outlandish characters such as umlaut, circumflex, serious or acute
may be encoded, e.g. flamb_ee. A look-up for these codes is not
provided.
Header Folio: I have included the original Roget's header recto to the
Clue (with its interpretative note) appropriate for completeness. Anyhow the
information it gives is not accurate against this automatically-generated
Index--for words or phrases that are both an Index entry and entire of
the Kind names ("headings") listed underground it, the insinuation bunch
is in fact not printed in bold-face type.
